Age spots / sun damaged skin / melasma

Those brown or black pigmentations that we see on our skin are called solar lentigines – but the name most are familiar with is “age (or brown) spots.” Tan to dark circular clusters, their color depends on the level of sun exposure. The spots are usually 1mm to 5mm in diameter and the size increases when more melatonin is collected around the skin. If you have age spots – which typically cause the skin to look blotchy, freckled or uneven – you probably wish they would be way less noticeable. Well, they can be. We offer treatments for age spots that do not harm the skin.

Body Contouring

We know how hard you try to stay in shape. But sometimes no matter how we exercise, or how much we monitor our diet, the desired results remain elusive. So we offer Body Contouring procedures to help you achieve the body shape goals you have. Body Contouring treats stubborn pockets of excess fat or cellulite on the neck, jawline, arms, breasts, abdomen, inner and outer thighs and knees. It is safe for all skin types and colors, and if you’re in good health with normal body weight, you’re the perfect candidate. Compared to Liposuction, Body Contouring is minimally invasive, has a fast recovery time and does not leave excess skin behind.

Cellulite Reduction

We all know the battle versus cellulite. As a definition, cellulite occurs when fat accumulates in the fat pockets between the skin and bone. And, the unfortunate result is that it makes the skin look uneven and lumpy – it’s obviously not a pretty sight. It is caused by genetics, hormonal factors, diet and lifestyle choices. So even when we eat right and work out intensively, cellulite can be extremely difficult to get rid of. Fortunately, we have some effective options for you.

Facial Veins

Maybe you’ve been dealing with “facial spider veins” for a while, or their appearance just recently became an issue. They look like thin red lines in the skin and can be so tiny that they look like generalized redness in the skin. Appearing on the face and neck, they can be caused by excessive sun exposure, pregnancy, oral contraceptive use, and liver disease. Most of the vascular lasers used today are pulsed dye lasers that target the blood cells in dilated vessels. The blood cells in the vessel absorb the energy from the laser, which selectively destroys the blood vessel. Usually one to three treatments is required, 4 weeks apart.

Hair Removal

here are places you have hair that you simply wish you didn’t. Whether growing on your upper lip, chin, cheeks, neck, shoulders, armpits, arms, stomach, bikini area, legs and back, you’d be more confidence in your overall appearance if this unwanted hair could disappear. Shaving is time consuming, and can cause unsightly bumps and cuts. We offer this treatment for effective, gentle & safe hair removal.

Hand Rejuvenation

Your hands are obviously impossible to hide, and are one of the first areas on the body that experience visible signs of aging. This happens because of natural sun exposure, which can lead to dark spots, liver spots, loss in volume and wrinkles. And besides those issues, the loss of fat that naturally occurs in hands makes them appear thin and boney, while exposing the veins. As much as one might try to solve skin appearance issues with expensive skin creams, they alone cannot combat the fast aging process of our hands. However, our hand rejuvenation treatments can restore a youthful appearance, giving your hands a smoother, fuller, and more youthful glow.

Hand rejuvenation treatments vary for each individual but patients can expect positive and ageless results. Large veins can be treated with sclerotherapy, and we recommend doing a filler treatment to restore fullness in your hands to cover bulging veins and bones. Laser resurfacing helps to fade age spots and kick-starts collagen production and exfoliation for new cell growth.

Leg Veins

The unfortunate appearance of leg veins can really cause people to lose confidence in their overall appearance. Our legs are made up of a network of veins that contain valves that open and close, which assists the return of blood back to the heart. Within the vein are a series of one-way valves that make blood flow in the direction of the heart. When a failure occurs causing the blood to flow backwards and pool, it stretches the wall of the veins making them look blue or bulging and can be extremely painful. These instances are correlated with genetics, obesity, prolonged standing or sitting, and physical trauma.

When you have a blotch or red skin, there’s usually a common cause for it. It’s a vascular skin lesion – a blemish – that’s due to abnormal blood vessels located directly under the surface of the skin. This is the reason for the red color. There are 4 types of vascular lesions, which are port-wine stains, hemangiomas, cherry angiomas, and spider veins.

Skin Laxity

Although we gain more wisdom with age, getting older brings with some inevitable changes to our bodies – especially our skin. As a result of aging, the collagen that supports the skin breaks down and renders a loose and saggy appearance – called laxity. Over many years, environmental factors play a big role in this, as the sun and pollution stress on collagen and elastic fibers in the skin. The consequent breakdown of these fibers causes laxity and it increases over years. Gravity also plays a large part in pulling the looser skin downwards and can start as early as age 30. Skin laxity can be seen on the face, under the eyes, and various parts of the body, which usually looks like fine crinkly lines and wrinkles that can exacerbate the appearance of cellulite.

Skin Pigmentation Correction & Dermal Remodeling

When we experience skin pigmentation issues – spots, freckles, wrinkles, fine lines, deep lines, acne scars, and uneven skin texture – it can mainly be attributed to exposure to pollution and UV rays. Overall, the appearance of the skin becomes duller and older looking.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are fairly common, and often appear in noticeable places on the body. They are a form of scarring on the skin, resulting from the tearing of the dermis from rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth. Hormonal changes, puberty, pregnancy and muscle building are common ways to form these scars. They first appear as reddish or purple lines and fade over time. The skin will feel soft to the touch and can appear anywhere on the body. The most common place for stretch marks to appear are in areas where larger amounts of fat are stored like the abdomen, breasts, upper arms, underarms, back, thighs, hips, and buttocks.

Tattoo Removal

Sometimes people look back at that “cool” tattoo and realize that if they had the chance to do it again, they wouldn’t. Along with having this feeling of regret, tattoo removal is also sought out by those who have a severe reaction to the ink. We offer treatment for Dermal and epidermal pigmented lesions and tattoos.

Vascular Lesions

If you happen to notice a red blemish on your body, it may be a Vascular Skin Lesion. This is caused by abnormal blood vessels located directly under the surface of the skin. There are 4 types of vascular lesions: port-wine stains, hemangiomas, cherry angiomas, and spider veins.

While gaining wrinkles as we grow older can create a distinguished look, as more of them arise it can have a major, unwanted effect on our appearance. Skin wrinkles form primarily around the face, neck, the backs of hands, and the tops of forearms. With age, skin cells divide more slowly, and the inner layer begins to thin. The elastin and collagen fibers that support the outer layer loosen and unravel, causing depressions on the surface. The skin loses its elasticity, does not retain as much moisture, and oil-secreting glands produce less oil. Overall the skin takes longer to heal.
